Job Summary 

The Senior Manager, Content Development – High School E-Learning, will oversee the content creation of digital Ontario Secondary School courses and instructional resources that reflect Rosedale’s Transformative Approach to Learning and high standards of academic excellence with compliance to the curriculum expectations of the Ontario Ministry of Education.

Duties & Responsibilities

Curriculum Content Development

  • Be accountable for the innovation, high standards and quality assurance of Rosedale high school course contents, student resources, and teacher instructional resources
  • Research and adopt best practices, latest trends on innovation and development in academic content
  • Manage the full life cycle of content management, from research, strategy definition, development, review, piloting to publishing
  • Lead, guide and support a team of SMEs, developers and editors to ensure the content is pedagogically sound and grade-level appropriate, and able to support superior learning experiences and learning outcomes
  • Manage content development with holistic methodology, approaches, frameworks, and checklists etc. to ensure quality delivery and lead content decision making
  • Liaise with key stakeholders such as academic operations, program implementation, training, and Rosedale partner schools to effectively solicit qualitative and quantitative feedback for continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with instructional design and technology to design how content should be presented, organized, and accessed, leading to superior learner experiences

Teacher Training Support

  • Collaborate with the Teacher Training team to provide curriculum related training to teachers in partner schools and external parties
  • Collaborate with the Academic Operations team to provide curriculum related training to Rosedale teachers in Central Evaluations

Educational Content Marketing

  • Collaborate with the business development and marketing teams to support, and advocate for, the value and quality of Rosedale’s curriculum
  • Communicate Rosedale’s curriculum through various formats (e.g. presentations, conferences, whitepapers articles, blogs) to stakeholder groups including school partners, prospective partners, universities and industry alliances

Required Experience and Knowledge

  • 5+ years progressive work experience in content development management in established publishing companies or with e-learning providers
  • Proven record in successfully managing content development at high school or higher education level
  • Rich experience in managing digital content to meet success criteria in academic rigor, education innovation and learning experiences
  • Knowledge in instructional strategy is mandatory
  • Possess holistic and detailed methodology and work approaches to manage quality content development
  • Master/Bachelor’s degree in education is an asset, but not mandatory
  • Subject content expertise at high school or higher education is a great asset
  • Superior project management, people management skills, quality delivery in time on budget
  • Proven capabilities in sourcing and recruiting subject experts, content developers and other content expertise
  • Great written and verbal communication skills with strong capabilities to influence people and work
