To introduce our Global Education Summit speakers to you, we asked them share with us what makes them proud as a global educator, what transforming education means to them, and how their work has changed in the past year.

For nearly four decades, Pam Turnbull has been a global educator and is most proud seeing the work that teachers and students at Rosedale are doing around the world. She says, “Our teachers are adapting their instruction to focus on building higher order thinking skills in a collaborative learning environment and our students are seizing all these opportunities to focus on their strengths and build new skills.  We are opening doors to the world for young people everywhere.”

To her, transforming global education means providing all students—no matter where they are in the world—with the opportunity to become deep, collaborative thinkers who are ready to work together with others across the globe to change our world.

In the last year, her work has changed in many ways. She notes the pandemic has highlighted for the need to integrate the use of technology into all of our work in education.  She says, “Students are best served when they have access to instructional excellence both in the classroom and through technology. This has reinforced for us the power of a blended learning educational program to meet the demands of the modern classroom.”
